It is the offshoot of the famous company NODAIWA which was founded in Tokyo at the end of the Edo era (1603-1867) and directed by the same family over five generations. Nodaiwa restaurant is the only restaurant in Paris that specialises in this grilled Japanese delicacy. Prepared from a generations old recipe, the unagi (grilled eel) is withoutout doubt the star attraction at Nodaiwa.The set Aoba lunch menu at Nodaiwa includes Chawanmushi (steamed cooked flan) Unaju -grilled eel, Suimono (consommé), Oshinko (salted vegetables), tea & a sweet, sticky dessert. Alternatively you can dine a la carte and sample delicacies such as Nanbanzuke (fried and marinaded eel), Araï (poached eel with yuzu sauce), smoked eel or moyaki (skewered eel liver).
