Le Tarmac is a trendy and contemporary brasserie located in the Gare du Lyon area of Paris. The restaurant is modern and bright in style yet slightly retro with red walls and white tables and chairs and there is a lovely terrace for al fresco dining. The name signifies the concept of a variety of sceneries, the tarmac being the part of the airport where planes are in transition, and Le Tarmac offers the diner not only a fantastic brasserie, where chef Arnaud Bertrand’s superb creations can be enjoyed, but also a well stocked bar offering cocktails of all kinds and a tapas menu served all day. The menu is varied and dishes mix between east & west bringing traditional bistro style and exotic flavours together with dishes such as lamb and artichoke tagine or pork marinated in cardamom and lemon. The desserts are delectable with chocolate mousse and tarte tatin top of the list. There is an excellent daily menu which includes starter, main and dessert at just 18 euros and for the quality of food you are getting the price is simply incredible. The weekend brunch is also extremely popular. On Monday nights diners can bring their own wine. If it’s great food at very reasonable prices you are looking for, Le Tarmac is your place.
