Le Grim Ô is a great little restaurant with an interesting and innovative menu of modern French cuisine and can be found in the charming village of La Valentine just outside of Marseille. The restaurant opened its doors in 2006 and has fast built a regular clientele due to its excellent and original food and wonderful service. Run by brother and sister team, Franck and Marilyn Grimaud, who are no strangers to the restaurant scene of Marseille, the interior is bright, contemporary and stylish and the menu is a creative mix of tastes and textures, primarily French but with inspiration from around the world, in particular Asia. Among the starters is millefeuille of grilled aubergine and goats cheese served with a fig jam or veal salad with ginger vinaigrette, mains include shark fillet with aubergines and spices, lamb confit or duck magret and to finish off; desserts such as chocolate fondue with ginger confit or apple terrine with honey. The wine list is short but select and includes something to match each dish. Le Grim Ô is a true gastronomical delight, something a little different from your usual French restaurant.
