Found in Paris’ 6th arrondissement between Montparnasse and the Observatoire, the Hacienda del Sol restaurant brings the colourful cuisine of Mexico to the tables of France’s capital. Owned by husband and wife team Claudio and Aurelie, Hacienda del Sol is an upmarket eatery specialising in the dishes of Northern Mexico. The setting is stylish and understated yet with all the colour and warmth that one would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Chef Claudio has been trained in both French and Mexican culinary styles and has created an innovative menu of Mexican fare. Alongside classic Mexican dishes such as nachos and fajitas you’ll find starters such as cactus salad with tomatoes, onion and coriander or melted cheese with chilli, chorizo and tomato sauce followed by main courses like pan fried shrimps in garlic and flambéed with tequila or red label chicken in a homemade tomato, cocoa and guajillo chilli sauce. All dishes are served with frijoles, tortillas and Mexican rice. If you have any room left then a traditional Mexican flan with coconut cream, bananas and grenadine will round things off nicely. The ambience is relaxed and friendly and you can see that plenty of love and care goes into every aspect of the Hacienda del Sol restaurant.
