Catherine Guerraz is considered to be one of the top female chefs in France and her restaurant Chez Catherine in the Etoile district of Paris is simply superb & very narrowly missed a Michelin star in the 2003 Guide Rouge. Chez Catherine is a smart, modern looking restaurant with a warmly cloured dining room and an open plan kitchen. The French cooking, with south-western influences aims high using the best seasonal products. Start with the perfect little raviolis in a cream and mushroom sauce and then follow it up with a perfect sole meunière or the pan-fried steak served with the crispy French fries. If it's cold outside try the cassoulet--a speciality of Catherine's native southwest France. The wine list at Chez Catherine is superb with a wide and varied choice and Catherine's knowledgeable and friendly husband runs the front-of-house resulting in some of the most charming service to be found in Paris. However, it's the fantastic well priced food executed to the highest standards that makes Chez Catherine such a talked about restaurant destination. Highly recommended..
