Take a culinary journey around the world without leaving Paris at the excellent new restaurant Bouillon des Colonies

 

Nestled in the Sorbonne district of Paris is an exciting addition to Paris’ restaurant scene, Bouillon des Colonies, where flavours from French colonies all over the world are combined to offer an innovative menu of international cuisine. Located in the same building as the famous Parisian restaurant Bouillon Racine, Bouillon des Colonies will take you along a culinary journey from Africa to Asia and back to Europe again, where the food is contemporary but not unconventional. Owner Luc Morand, inspired by his travels, has created a beautiful interior, with wild exotic colours and gentle lighting, with all sort of interesting bits and bobs from far flung places adorning the dining room. There is an air of subtle elegance about Bouillon des Colonies, the décor is unusual but by no means garish at all. As for the food, the flavours and spices are like nothing you have ever tried before, with dishes such as chicken yassa, confit of lamb with cumin aubergines or chicken tagine with lemons and olives featuring on an innovative international menu. Relax on one of the colonial style soft armchairs after your meal and take in the atmosphere. Bouillon des Colonies is a restaurant with a difference and Luc Morand’s winning concept is certainly wowing the restaurant goers of Paris.
