Aux 2 Oliviers is a colourful and original Mediterranean restaurant centrally situated opposite the French Senate and based on the edge of the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris’ 6th arrondissement. Opened in 2007, Aux 2 Oliviers takes diners on a journey to the tables of Provence with its Mediterranean style Provencal inspired menu. The décor is warm and inviting with plush deep red seating, wooden flooring and light beige walls and an abundance of mirrors make this small and homely restaurant seem more spacious. The food is wonderfully authentic and makes you believe that there is no need to head to the south of France for traditional Provencal and Mediterranean cuisine when you can indulge in dishes such as coq au vin de Bordeaux with tagliatelle and forest mushrooms; pork fillet mignon caramelised with honey and thyme or duck stew with olives. The sea bass with fennel fondue is just delightful. To accompany such great food is a well though out wine list with plenty to get excited about. Aux 2 Oliviers is a gem of a restaurant that certainly adds a touch of southern sunshine to the 6th quarter of Paris.
