An unassuming restaurant from the exterior, A Casaluna is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Paris, found in a small street behind the Jardin du Palais Royal, where top class Corsican cuisine is the order of the day. A Casaluna is a locals secret, you won’t find too many tourists here, and it’s true to say that the locals always know the best places to eat. The dining room of A Casaluna is warm and inviting, with vaulted ceilings and stone walls, giving it a traditional feel. Owner Christine Sanna Lefranc has certainly brought the authentic flavours of her native Corsica to the capital of France and has created a wonderful menu of typical recipes from the beautiful Mediterranean isle. Start with marinated sardines on wilted endive salad or cured ham topped with tasty Corsican cheese. Mains include delights such as sea bream on mashed zucchini, Corsican cannelloni or veal stew with olives. Desserts are original and innovative such as myrtle and fig sorbet, an unusual but simply delicious idea. Traditional live Corsican music is featured on Sunday evenings, making A Casaluna a great destination to round off the week.
